Day 62 and today is International Turtle Day! - by Jennifer Goldsmith

Day 62 and today is International Turtle Day - by Nik Bestow. by Nik Bestow - Nik says (for those not Discworld- savvy) : Great A'Tuin, the World Turtle, is the gigantic turtle upon whose back the Discworld is carried through space. The Disc does not rest directly on A'Tuin; instead, it rests on the shoulders of four immense elephants, Berilia, Tubul, Great T'Phon and Jerakeen, who stand atop the turtle's shell.

Day 62 and today is International Turtle Day - by Bryan King. Bryan says hanks for giving us turtles for today's challenge. I'm happy with this, as a few years ago I was fortunate to spend some time on the Cayman Islands - originally named Las Tortugas - for the large number of turtles found in the seas there. I visited the Cayman Turtle Centre which now protects and breeds the Green Sea Turtles and did lots of photos and some sketches. I hope that you don't mind but I've sent you a photo as wel

Day 57 - First LP or record that meant a lot to you. Every year when I was little we went to the seaside, every year on day one I got sunburnt and spent most of the rest of the holiday in the shade! Then along came Cliff..... So I doodled a bit...... dreaming of what might again be reality..... Jean Maxwell

Day 57 - First LP or record that meant a lot to you. My first record. Red Sails in the Sunset by Tab Hunter. I didn’t even have a record player. I used to beg time on the record deck of the boy next door. Hazel Richards

Day 57 - First LP or record that meant a lot to you - This is 'out of the blue' by ELO. I grew up in the cd era, but lived off records as my dad used to be a DJ and he had (still does), hundreds of them. Jennifer Goldsmith

Day 57 - First LP or record that meant a lot to you. The first record I bought was a 45, Joe Brown's 'That's what love will do'. My parents had bought a radiogram, the height of luxury! And so armed with 4 shillings and sixpence I ventured into the record department of British Home Stores in the High Street. The record department was actually a small space under the stairs in the shop basement. A big grown up experience, I think that I was about 12. All very innocent. Pauline Henry

Day 57 - First LP or record that meant a lot to you. Here is today's challenge. This was the first record I bought I played and played it until everyone was sick and tired of it. I used to play it on an old windup portable gramophone. Brings back memories of being thirteen again. The record was Guy Mitchell Singing the Blues. Cathy Woodhead

Day 57 - First LP or record that meant a lot to you. My eldest sister was eleven years older than me. She was at work and bought a copy of 'Love Letters in the Sand' which I really liked, but was not allowed to touch when she was out. My parents had recently bought a very shiny HMV radiogram. I had the record on, when I saw my sister cycle past on her way home from work. PANIC. I took the record off, and promptly sat on it to hide it! Obviously not a good move! Jean Taylor

Day 57 - First LP or record that meant a lot to you. For my record painting there’s nothing like cheering people up and giving them a good laugh..... and this is nothing like....... We’re doomed, doomed I say. Andy Wright

Day 57 - First LP or record that meant a lot to you. I did music for O-level I bought records of two of the set pieces, one of which was Bach ‘Sleepers Awake’. The others that I have incorporated in the picture were more of an indulgence later one, such as African Sanctus, and of course a concession to the Beatles. I have included Sibelius 2 as most records of it have an attractive sleeve cover, usually a Finnish landscape, as opposed in, with Schubert, Unfinished. Stephen David
